¿Qué es Psiconnect?

Psiconnect es una iniciativa que nació en abril de 2020. Psiconnect conecta a psicólogos profesionales con usuarios que los necesitan a través de un proceso personalizado por medio de una plataforma digital para dispositivos móviles y ordenadores. Asimismo, es un emprendimiento que busca agilitar el proceso de búsqueda, agendamiento, cobro de citas psicológicas, estadísticas de progreso y herramientas para la salud mental, tanto para el psicólogo como para el usuario. Finalmente, Psiconnect es un espacio donde la salud mental es accesible, asequible, interesante y conveniente para todos.

¿Cuál es la propuesta de valor?

Psiconnect te permite salud y crecimiento mental como tú quieras, cuando tú lo quieras y donde tú lo quieras.

¿Cuál es la situación actual y problemática que se enfrenta?

En el Ecuador, las estadísticas de la salud mental son alarmantes:

• Según la OMS, el 85% de la población que sufre de trastornos mentales graves en países de ingresos bajos y medios, no recibe tratamiento alguno, Ecuador siendo uno de estos

• Según la PAHO y la OMS, 3 de cada 10 personas en el Ecuador sufre de algún problema de salud mental. De estas, 8 de cada 100 sufren de depresión y 5 de cada 100 sufren de ansiedad 

• La inversión en salud mental no representa ni el 1% del total de la inversión en la salud pública 

Además de estas estadísticas, la salud mental en el Ecuador, como en muchos otros países, se ha visto afectada de manera drástica gracias a la pandemia. Varios estudios han demostrado que, debido a las medidas tomadas para prevenir los contagios de COVID-19, el estado de ánimo y la salud mental de las personas se han visto altamente impactados, poniendo en riesgo a la salud mental de los ecuatorianos. 

Debido a estos factores, en Psiconnect consideramos que es momento de que  nuevos actores y gestores independientes tomen acción para que la salud mental deje de ser un estigma y  se vuelva una prioridad. No solo brindaremos los servicios anteriormente mencionados, sino también charlas y contenido de valor para concientizar y promover la importancia del bienestar emocional y mental en la cultura ecuatoriana. 

¿Qué pasa si no actuamos ahora?

Si no actuamos ahora, estaremos expuestos a una creciente demanda por servicios de salud mental que no van a poder ser atendidos. Junto a esto, la calidad de vida del ecuatoriano se vería altamente afectada, creando malestar y tensión laboral, familiar, sentimental, entre otras. Además de esto, la salud mental seguirá siendo un estigma y un tema ignorado por los ecuatorianos lo que haría que las personas que quieran mejorar su calidad de vida tengan miedo de hacerlo debido al estigma y al “ que dirán” que los rodea. Adicionalmente, considerando que la salud mental y la física van siempre de la mano, las estadísticas incrementarán no solo en la salud mental sino también en enfermedades físicas. Es importante recordar que la mejor intervención es la prevención, y sin una plataforma que brinde servicios ágiles e innovadores como Psiconnect, esto no será posible de alcanzar. 

¿Por qué necesitamos $5000 y en qué los invertiremos?

Para poder desarrollar una plataforma que sea completa, funcional y de fácil acceso, necesitamos 5000 USD. Estos serán utilizados para: licencias y despliegue tecnológico, asesoría jurídica y legal, auditoría contable, cumplimiento de regulaciones fiscales y reportes mensuales por la SUPERCIAS, publicidad, diseño de producto y manejo de marca. Finalmente, se invertirán en remuneración de las personas que hacen posible el desarrollo de Psiconnect.

What is the current problem that Psiconnect is facing and solving?

In Ecuador, mental health statistics are alarming:

According to the WHO, 85% of the population that suffers from serious mental disorders in low- and middle-income countries do not receive any treatment, Ecuador being one of these

According to PAHO and WHO, 3 out of 10 people in Ecuador suffer from a mental health problem. Of these, 8 out of 100 suffer from depression and 5 out of 100 suffer from anxiety

In Ecuador, investment in mental health does not represent even 1% of total investment in public health. In addition to these statistics, mental health in Ecuador, as in many other countries, has been drastically affected thanks to the pandemic. Several studies have shown that, due to the measures taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, people’s mood and mental health have been highly impacted, putting Ecuadorian’s mental health at risk. Due to all these factors, we believe that it is the precise moment to implement new actors and disruptive initiatives to cease the stigma around mental health and turn it into a priority. We will not only provide the aforementioned services, but will also provide conferences and valuable content to raise awareness and promote the importance of emotional and mental well-being in Ecuadorian culture.

What if we do not take action NOW?

If we do not act now, we will be exposed to a growing demand for mental health services that will not be able to be served. Along with this, the Ecuadorian’s quality of life will be highly affected, creating discomfort and tension in their professional and sentimental life, along with some negative consequences in their daily interactions with others and with themselves. In addition to this, mental health will continue to be a stigma and an issue ignored by Ecuadorians, which would make people who want to improve their quality of life afraid to do so due to the stigma and the "what will people say" that surrounds them. Additionally, considering that mental and physical health always go hand in hand, the statistics will increase not only in mental health problems but also in physical illnesses. It is important to remember that the best intervention is prevention, and without a platform that provides agile and innovative services such as Psiconnect, this will not be possible to achieve.

Why do we need $ 5000 and what is this investment for?

In order to develop a platform that is complete, functional, and easily accessible, we need $ 5,000. These will be used for: licenses and technological deployment, legal consultancy, accounting audit,  in order to comply with tax regulations and monthly reports by SUPERCIAS, advertising, product design and brand management. Finally, they will be invested in the remuneration of the people who make the development of Psiconnect possible.
